Medical Camping

Our Camp Director, Ed Collins, oversees all program areas of camp, from counselors, programs staff and volunteers - while maintaining an uplifting and energetic atmosphere for our campers. But watch out, his enthusiasm is contagious!
We focus on 2 unique and uplifting camping experiences: During the school year, we conduct family weekends (wherein the entire family can attend) and in the summer months, we host week-long sessions (devoted specifically to the ill child). A year round high caliber medical camp devoted to the bravest kids we know...and their remarkable families.
Many of our Courageous Kids are unable to attend camps designed for "healthy" children as they are full of physical barriers that make program participation by a child with a medical challenge difficult or impossible. These challenges only call attention to a child's unique medical hurdle.
Our facility and program are designed so the ill child can feel they are just like everyone else. Built to exceed the spirit and intent of the Americans with Disabilities Act, children enjoy total unrestricted, access to every feature and program of the Camp. Children requiring special monitoring, multiple medications, chemotherapy, dialysis, transfusions, and many other procedures, are welcome. The on-site medical support structure allows the camper to fully participate in the camping experience. Parents are confident their child will receive the special care they need in a safe, specially designed and professionally staffed facility, but where the medical presence is purposely kept in the background.
