A Day In The Life of A Courageous-Kids-Camper

7:30    Early Riser Program

For campers who like to awaken to a fast start, we offer pre-breakfast activities.  From catching a fish to aiming for a bull’s eye at archery, there’s something for everyone!  Of course, the early-risers activities are optional, so campers needing extra rest can sleep in.  Our medical staff are early risers as well and begin their day dispensing smiles along with medications, from sun-up to sun-down!

8:15     Breakfast

Come and get it!  Each meal offers a kid friendly, nutritious menu served family style where campers help serve each other.  Each lodge sits together to share camp stories and discuss the day ahead.  After the dishes are cleared, it’s time for dancing, camp songs and other surprises to get the day off to a great start!

9:00    Lodge Clean Up

Just like at home, campers and staff love to clean their rooms before heading to morning programs.  While making their beds and putting away their clothes, children can think of a clever bribe for the lodge judges, who will secretly inspect their cabins and award those ever popular Clean Lodge Awards!

9:20    Morning Activities

The morning trumpet signals the beginning of morning activities. Traveling with their cabin, children are off to fun at their assigned morning activities.  Each cabin will visit two program areas for a morning of good times and new skills. Activities include cooking, arts and crafts, woodshop, music, horses, the climbing wall, bowling and more!

12:30   Lunch

After a full morning of celebrating life, it’s time to wind down with a good meal. While eating, campers sign up for their favorite free choice options later that  afternoon. The highlight of the meal is the opportunity to share accomplishments and extend thanks to new friends.

1:30     Siesta

Following lunch, it’s off to the lodges for some much deserved rest and relaxation before the fun begins anew.  While some campers take a nap, others relax on their beds, read a book or write a letter to home.  As always, our medical staff keep a watchful eye and monitor our campers' medical needs with laughter and a lot of TLC!

3:00    Afternoon Activities

The trumpet sounds again, letting campers know it is time for an afternoon of good times! Campers meet others who share similar interest while attending their selected free choice activity. Then it’s off to the pool to rejoin their lodge and take part in half camp swim and water games!

5:30    Dinner

There’s always a buzz in the air for the last meal before evening programming.  That’s because of the fun about to happen!  Following eating (mmm mmm) and maybe a little music and silly dancing, campers learn which trophy will grace their table when the winners of the Clean Lodge Awards are announced!

6:45    Evening Programming

Each night offers a different activity with the common theme of entertainment, energy and FUN! Campers enjoy the campfire, paint their counselors and themselves during the Get Messy Games, enjoy an evening concert or rodeo, try their hand at a number of carnival games, and show off their talents at Stage Night!  The week concludes with campers sharing their final thoughts on the week at the all-camp closing.

8:15     Back to Lodges

The three youngest age groups return to their cabins to settle down for the evening.  After clean up, campers and staff wind down with a calm reflection of the day and share their thoughts on the days to come.

Older Camper Programming

The older campers are treated to additional programming as a reward for their leadership on camp. Staff create unique and theme related activities for older  campers, allowing for continued socialization and team building.

9:15     Lights Out

The entire camp is wished a pleasant evening as all program areas and activities come to a close.  (All except for our medical center of course.  They're on-call 24/7!!)
