Staff Info

For the summer, The Center for Courageous Kids hires around 60 staff members who are 18 years of age and have completed one year of college, or are 19 years of age or older. Employment is contingent on references, a background check and an interview process. Summer staff are required to work from mid-May to early August. Camp requires you to work long days with limited time off, but the rewards are life-changing. Staff will discover new talents, new friendships enhance their resume and most importantly make a difference in the lives of many children.

Summer Paid Positions Include:

Den Counselor: As a den counselor you are typically assigned to 8 campers each week. The den counselor is there to play hard and make sure that the kids are having the time of their lives as they follow them through the program rotations and all camp activities. This job requires the counselor to be actively involved in the supervision, guidance and motivation of campers while maintaining a high standard of care.

Program Counselor: Program Counselors utilize every opportunity for creativity as they plan fun and memorable experiences in their assigned program area. They are responsible for preparing, supervising, and facilitating one of the areas listed below.

Local Attractions:

Our summer staff also have the opportunity to enjoy the surrounding area during nights off and between camper sessions. Scottsville is twenty minutes from Bowling Green and about an hour from Nashville, which provides staff with places to shop, have a nice dinner or enjoy a concert. For staff who love the outdoors, there are several locations for caving and hiking nearby.
